BCC in emails a marketing solution hiding in plain sight !

Do you market through a mailing list? Does it bother you that the individuals who receive your content see the entire mailing list in their inbox? If your answer is “yes” then this article is for you. Let’s take a look at the meaning of the abbreviation BCC and how the feature is a solution to this problem.

Meaning of BCC

BCC means blind carbon copy. This feature in emails is meant to hide a mailing list from individual recipients . If individual recipients are able to see the entire mailing list you are using you render the asset prone to abuse. Individuals on the mailing list can suffer from spamming which is receiving unsolicited emails. This should therefore, bother you as a business person because your reputation can be hurt.

Use of BCC

So to use BCC and avoid problems associated by not doing so you simply put your email as the main recipient of the content you want to send whilst you put the mailing list under BCC. Alternatively, you can put only one email from the mailing list as the main recipient and the rest under BCC. After you sent the content there is no one on the mailing list who will be able to know who else has received the same content.

Having individual recipients receiving the entire mailing list has been a source of head aches to me until a friend told me about BCC. In case you know some important solution hiding in plain sight like BCC in emails please feel free to share in the comment section below .
