The LinkedIn Connections Converter Special Part 3

Hey welcome back!

This is Cain Ndhlovu founder of Sunrise Digital Marketing Agency and creator of this three part free training series for you on The LinkedIn Connections Converter Special Part 1 to 3.

So welcome to Part 3 of The LinkedIn Connections Converter Special training series which is the final one in the series. It has been wonderful having you in Part 1 and 2.

How do you break into the market with a new product, service or company ? The answer is you do a product launch and this training series gives you the opportunity to learn about a proven product launch formula (PLF) by Jeff Walker and how to implement it.

This formula has been implemented successfully by thousands of entrepreneurs around the world and has enabled them to realize their dreams. What makes you think that your business will be successful enough for you to buy a house, car or make an investment when that same business is struggling to take off the ground ?

So in Part 1I taught you about the product launch formula by Jeff Walker and in Part 2 I taught you about common yet powerful digital tools to use in order to implement it cost effectively.

But you might be having questions or objections. What are these questions ? What are the answers ?  So in this final series I will focus on commonly asked questions, objections and answers.

Before getting started let me tell you the story behind how I got involved in this. How can you as well ? It is an amazing story so if you have not heard about it here it is.

You know I was just a newcomer in the real estate industry and I had just left high school. On one occasion I was fired and on another my boss told me “maybe selling real estate isn’t for you”.

The Zimbabwean economy was nose diving and these were difficult moments. But I had to survive. So the biggest question became “How can I improve my sales of real estate?”

I had no relevant experience at all because I was just a high school leaver who only knew poem writing. I was also alone. The people who were supposed to act as my mentors could not help. They also were struggling to make ends meet.

It was a dog eat dog kind of a situation.

But there was a lot of talk about how the internet was being the latest marketing media. Social media had begun dazzling young people in my country.

So I joined at first Facebook and then LinkedIn and Twitter later. Because I had a writing skill I also became a blogger and started publishing real estate articles.

Ever since I left high school I have never stopped writing. In total I have been writing for at least 20years now. Some of my friends also introduced me to You Tube tutorials on real estate.

 A turning point …

The internet and social media helped me reach several milestones.

Firstly I managed to earn $1 000.00 worth of commission through the help of my blog Property Matters News in 2014.

It all started when I wrote an article titled,

“ Financial consequences of purchasing property from a seriously-ill seller and other purchases to avoid ”.

This property article resonated with a Harare lady.

She had just purchased a Msasa house from a seriously-ill seller and there was an outstanding balance. After reading the post she decided to clear this balance by selling another property - a piece of land in Madokero .

I was the real estate agent she commissioned to do the new sale on her behalf.

This highly motivated me because I took it as a vote of confidence  confirming how my new social media based marketing methods worked.

Secondly, the internet and social media helped me secure customers easily.  On social media - LinkedIn, Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter you have access to millions by the click of a button. To this end I invented a social prospecting technic called script prospecting.

Social prospecting involves monitoring and / or searching social networks for signs of customer interest, immediate and future buying intent.

 The results …

Apart from real estate I have also gotten results in entrepreneurship. Script prospecting helped me acquire email addresses of prospective customers.

I used these to create a mailing list which I worked on in order to convert prospective customers to paying customers like these;

Finally, on the internet I have met world class mentors on the social media marketing topic. These helped take my knowledge of digital marketing to the next level.

A mentor is a person who has attained success in a particular area and from whom you can learn. I prefer learning from a mentor than a college lecturer because the former rises and fall with results.

He is like a football coach -your Alex Ferguson, Jose Morinho, Pep Guardiola . I have never seen teachers being fired for poor O Level results but I always hear about coaches being fired everyday for poor results on the pitch.

In the online marketing space one such mentor is an internet millionaire called Jeff Walker.  Jeff shares his ideas that made him a millionaire in his book titled Launch a New York Times best seller. His product launch formula has been successfully duplicated by entrepreneurs around the world helping them also to break into the market with new products.

Jeff Walker was a stay-at-home dad who had failed in the corporate world in the mid 90s. To improve his poor financial situation he decided to get started by enrolling in grad school. But since it was after five years being out of the work force he wanted to first boost his resume  in order to be accepted. To do this he started an online newsletter that offered free tips about the stock market.

This did it and he secured a place at grad school.

A week before his first class he decided to monetize his newsletter and he tried to pitch his idea through email. Much to his surprise it worked and people sent him physical checks for a successful launch of $1, 650.  That day, his life changed forever as the entrepreneurial spark became real.

Instantly, he thought, “If I can do it once, I can do it again… and better.”

On the first day of grad school, he decided to drop out, and the rest is history. He went on to do bigger launches from $6,000 to $8,000 to $14,000 and 18 months later, a $34,000 launch. Then, a few short years later, he had his first six-figure launch in 2000 - which was unheard of in those times.

I have put effort to learn his product launch formula and to teach it in Part 1.

Furthermore, my experience with common yet powerful digital marketing tools like Gmail, Blogger, LinkedIn, Facebook etc enabled me to implement it and I have taught this too in Part 2.

So in this final series which is Part 3 we are focusing on the commonly asked questions or objections. What are the questions ? What are the answers ?

Well the questions are in two groups as follows;

(1) Questions about digital marketing only.

(2) Questions comparing digital marketing

 (online marketing) with offline marketing.

(1) Questions about digital marketing only.

I have realized that the best way to tackle these questions is as follows;

4 Common Online Marketing Mistakes Exposed !

1. Not marketing your website or blog

Many believe that once a site is live it will market itself and visitors will flock to it in their millions. This is fallacious because without real efforts to distribute your site’s content especially to a mailing list of pre-qualified leads your site is wasted resource.

There are over 1 billion websites on the internet today so what are the chances of someone stumbling upon yours?

2. Having unrealistic expectations

Sometimes this is caused by the assumption that online initiatives have overnight results. Yes there are cases of exceptional success but these are rare at best.

If you are wise you don’t base strategy on exception but on the rule and the rule is that online success is built upon hard work not shortcuts.

3. Engaging in shady practices in order to improve SEO

A programmer once told me he could improve my blog’s ranking on Google for certain key words. When I asked him to explain how I discovered that his methods were what Google call SEO spam or black hat methods that may involve tricking the search engine into giving you a better search ranking for certain key words.

Google has invested millions for combating SEO spam that is why they have developed software programs like Google Penguin. Being penalized by Google is something difficult to fix. You may experience a short term gain but eventually you will loose.

If you want to improve your SEO the starting point is that you must focus on original articles, answering user questions and these articles must be at least 2 000 words long.

 4. Marketing to everyone

Many companies erroneously measure a website’s success by the quantity not quality of visitors. A site require the right visitors because at the end you need visitors who will convert to customers.

Basing your blog or website upon an ever growing mailing list of pre-qualified leads is a step in the right direction.

(2) Questions comparing digital marketing

 (online marketing) with offline marketing.

Probably the dominant narrative these days is biased towards online marketing. If truth is to be told both offline and online marketing have their respective set of advantages.

However, with the growing accessibility to the internet as is always reported by POTRAZ (Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe ) and with more and more people consuming information on the move online marketing certainly prove to be much more beneficial and advantageous than offline or traditional marketing.

Case study : The Impact Of Covid 19 Lockdowns On

 Marketing

The Covid 19 lockdowns affected the physical movement of people through laws penalizing individuals travelling without approved reasons like the need for essentials.

Most offline marketing methods like billboards, bus/taxi raps, newspapers etc were affected by the lockdown because the distribution of their materials depended on physical movement of people known as human traffic.

On the other hand the lockdowns benefited online marketing as more and more people went online to seek digital alternatives (e.g online shopping, virtual church services, virtual meetings on platforms like Facebook and Zoom, e-learning, news etc.) to what they can no longer get physically

This therefore, increased the presence of people there and making online marketing lucrative. Even now when the World Health Organisation (WHO) predicted that the erradication of covid 19 was in the near future marketing and business have been changed forever.

4 Big Success Principles

 # 1 Do prospecting everyday in the morning

Sales is a numbers game and numbers drop off as you go down the sales funnel. So in order to have meaningful sales at the end you must prospect on large numbers at the beginning.

This therefore, mean you MUST prospect EVERYDAY. By everyday I mean Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and so on. This also mean you must have a very effective prospecting and lead generating technic. Fortunately, you can use script prospecting which is not only effective but also cost-effective.

As you prospect you must do it in the morning. I myself wake up at 3am and start working from this time. This training was created during this morning routine.

The morning routine is important to an entrepreneur because in the morning until noon you are at your freshest.

There is nothing else in your life that can’t wait until noon!

#2 Create a buyer persona first

What makes a buyer persona critical is that since it’s the first thing you must do if you fail to do it right or you do not do it at all your entire marketing campaign will go off the rail.

Remember it gives you your target because it’s a representation of your ideal customer. In Part 2 I have given more detail about the buyer persona especially how to create it.

#3 Use podomoro technic and drink lots of water

Podomoro is a time management technic invented by Italians that says instead of powering through 3 hours when doing a project you can break this period into about 25 mins sessions separated by 5 mins. This helps you prevent burnout.

As you work you should also drink lots of water because the brain dehydrate faster.

#4 Opportunity Cost

After years of struggling, lone nights  trying to figure out digital marketing on my own this probably is the biggest success principle I must share with you.

Before getting started doing what I have just taught you here you should first ask yourself “What is the cost of this opportunity ?”

What are other things you are giving up in order to pursue this opportunity ?

So let me simplify opportunity cost for you. Let me give an example.

Lets say you are trying to do a product launch and you spend a lot of time every day trying to do this.

You continue doing this for year one, year two, year three, year four and year five. You spend five years trying to set up your digital marketing all by yourself struggling and trying to make it happen.

On the other hand what you could have done is hire an expert who could have short-circuited your success path. So that instead of spending five years struggling with it you spend just one year and you get the same level of success.

So what is the opportunity cost here for that person who spend five years?

The answer is he has lost those five years trying to struggle, trying to figure this out instead of spending one year plus some money to get the same level of results.

So the opportunity cost is he literally lost five years because he did not go and find help to help him in his journey which could have skyrocketed his results.

This is crucial my friend !

You see a lot of us are so stuck in our ways of thinking that we do not think of opportunity cost as to how big it is and how powerful it is.

We are only thinking of the immediate cost of something. For example how much you are charged.

Unfortunately, if money is the only way you measure anything then you will always be drowning in negative opportunity cost.

If money is the only thing you measure something you cannot think of long term value of anything.

So this is a really important idea.

If you are trying to jumpstart your marketing through a launch and boost your sales so that you buy a house, a car, make an investment or realize whatever kind of dream you have as a hard working entrepreneur you have to value the opportunity cost.

Should you be spending five years of your life trying to figure it out all by yourself or should you hire an expert to help you do it in a year ?

This is a question you have to answer !
